The Bible reveals that before the return of Jesus Christ, the world will witness prophetic signs on a global scale 👇
Unlike previous generations, our era is seeing multiple prophecies being fulfilled simultaneously. Jesus explained that these events would be like birth pains: they would become more frequent, more intense, and closer together until the final fulfillment of God’s plan.
The Scriptures specifically foretell:
1) an increase in wars and international conflicts
2) growing tensions surrounding Israel and Jerusalem
3) famines and food crises
4) earthquakes and natural disasters
5) global epidemics
6) a dramatic rise in violence and the collapse of moral values
7) increasing apostasy within the religious world
8) the rapid advancement of surveillance and control technologies
9) the preparation of a global economic system
10) the future emergence of a world government
11) widespread spiritual deception affecting the nations
Jesus declared that these events would be signs announcing His return.
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
Matthew 24:6–7
“Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
Matthew 24:12
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.”
2 Timothy 3:1
Paul also describes a society characterized by selfishness, pride, immorality, rejection of God, and the loss of spiritual values.
“People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud…”
2 Timothy 3:2
The Bible also foretells that knowledge will increase dramatically in the last days.
“Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Daniel 12:4
The explosive growth of technology, artificial intelligence, global digital surveillance, and worldwide financial systems is considered by many believers to be an important part of the modern prophetic landscape.
No generation in history has witnessed so many prophetic signs converging at the same time. For this reason, many believe that the return of Jesus Christ could be much nearer than most people realize.
Why Is the Return of Israel Considered a Major Sign?
The return of the Jewish people to their land is seen by many as a major end-times prophecy fulfilled👇
For nearly two thousand years, after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in A.D. 70, the Jewish people were scattered throughout the world.
Yet long before these events, the prophets had foretold that God would one day gather Israel from all nations and restore them to their land before the events of the end times.
At the time, this prophecy seemed impossible. No other people in history has preserved its national identity for nearly twenty centuries without a homeland or an independent state.
Nevertheless, on May 14, 1948, Israel was officially reborn as a sovereign nation.
This event marks one of the most significant prophetic turning points since biblical times.
“I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.”
Ezekiel 36:24
“Who has ever heard of such a thing? Can a country be born in a day?”
Isaiah 66:8
Since this national rebirth, millions of Jews have returned to Israel from the four corners of the earth, in accordance with the words of the prophets.
But Israel’s prophetic role does not end with its restoration.
The Bible also foretells that Israel will gradually become the center of global attention before the return of the Messiah.
Today, despite its small geographical size, Israel stands at the center of:
1) geopolitical tensions in the Middle East
2) international debates
3) religious conflicts
4) global diplomatic issues
5) end-times prophecies
“Jerusalem will become a burden to all peoples.”
Zechariah 12:3
Ezekiel’s prophecies even announce that a coalition of nations led by Gog (interpreted by some as Russia) will attack Israel in the last days.
The current alliances between Russia, Iran, Turkey, and several Middle Eastern nations strongly resemble, in the view of some interpreters, the scenario described in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39.
Thus, the return of Israel is not merely a remarkable historical event; it is regarded by many Christians as one of the principal prophetic indicators that the events of the end times are drawing near.
What Will Happen Next According to Biblical Prophecy?
The Bible foretells a series of major events that will gradually lead to the glorious return of Jesus Christ 👇
According to many prophetic interpretations, several important events are still to come.
First, global tensions surrounding Israel will continue to increase until the prophetic war of Gog and Magog described in Ezekiel 38 and 39.
This coalition, led by Russia and supported by nations such as Iran, Turkey, Sudan, and Libya, will invade Israel.
But God will intervene directly through supernatural judgments to destroy the invading armies.
“I will magnify Myself, sanctify Myself, and make Myself known in the sight of many nations.”
Ezekiel 38:23
According to this prophetic view, the world will then be deeply shaken.
Governments will be weakened, the global economy will be destabilized, and people will seek a leader capable of restoring international order.
It is in this context that the Antichrist will emerge.
Charismatic, intelligent, and influential, he will present himself as the man capable of bringing peace to the Middle East and stability to the world.
He will then confirm a seven-year covenant with Israel and many nations.
“He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.”
Daniel 9:27
During the first three and a half years, he will gradually strengthen his political, economic, and religious authority.
But in the middle of the seven years, he will break the covenant.
He will enter the temple, proclaim himself to be God, and demand worship from the whole world.
“He sits in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.”
2 Thessalonians 2:4
Then the Great Tribulation will begin—the darkest period in human history.
During this time:
1) the False Prophet will appear
2) false miracles will be performed
3) the mark of the beast will be enforced
4) the global economy will be controlled
5) believers will be persecuted
6) the judgments described in Revelation will fall upon the earth
“No one could buy or sell unless he had the mark.”
Revelation 13:17
But these events will not mark the end of history.
At the end of this period, Jesus Christ will return visibly in glory before all nations.
“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him.”
Revelation 1:7
He will destroy the Antichrist and the False Prophet, judge the nations, and establish His kingdom of peace and righteousness.
“The Lord Jesus will overthrow him with the breath of His mouth.”
2 Thessalonians 2:8
The Bible therefore calls everyone not to ignore the signs of the times, but to prepare spiritually, place their trust in Jesus Christ, and remain watchful in anticipation of His return.

“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ teaches that when the foretold signs begin to be fulfilled, His return is near.
“Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel.”
In this prophecy, Ezekiel announces the gathering of the people of Israel from among the nations and their restoration as one nation in their land. This happened on May 14, 1948.
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
In this prophetic discourse, Jesus Christ announces several signs of the last days: wars, global conflicts, famines, and earthquakes. However, He explains that these events mark the beginning of sorrows, not yet the complete end.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”
In this verse, Paul the Apostle warns that in the last days, some people will turn away from the true faith and follow deceptive teachings and spiritually dangerous influences.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”»
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ encourages believers to remain hopeful when they see the signs of the end times. The verse declares that the redemption of the faithful is near.
