The Book of Daniel is one of the most remarkable prophetic books in the entire Bible. Written during the 6th century BC, it tells the story of Daniel, a young Hebrew taken captive to Babylon, while revealing prophecies that span more than 2,500 years of history.
Through dreams and visions given by God, Daniel foretells the rise and fall of world empires, the coming of the Messiah, His death, the destruction of Jerusalem, the appearance of the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, and the establishment of God’s everlasting Kingdom.
Many of these prophecies have already been fulfilled with extraordinary accuracy, while others remain to be fulfilled in the future. For this reason, Jesus Himself referred His disciples to the Book of Daniel when teaching about the end times.
The Book of Daniel is therefore one of the essential keys to understanding Bible prophecy and the Book of Revelation.

Daniel’s prophecies are among the most remarkable in the entire Bible because they accurately predicted major historical events centuries before they happened👇
Around 539 BC, God gave Daniel a series of visions revealing world history from his own time until the establishment of the Messiah’s eternal Kingdom.
Several of these prophecies have already been fulfilled with extraordinary precision.
Daniel foretold:
1) the succession of the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek, and Roman Empires (Daniel 2 and 7)
2) the coming of the Messiah (Daniel 9:25)
3) the death of the Messiah (Daniel 9:26)
4) the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple (Daniel 9:26).
History confirms these fulfillments:
539 BC – Babylon fell to the Medo-Persian Empire.
331 BC – Alexander the Great defeated the Persian Empire.
63 BC – Rome took control of Jerusalem.
Around AD 32 – Jesus entered Jerusalem as the promised Messiah.
AD 32–33 – Jesus Christ was crucified.
AD 70 – Jerusalem and the Second Temple were destroyed by the Romans.
These fulfilled prophecies demonstrate that God knows the future and carries out His plan exactly as He has declared.
Not all of Daniel’s prophecies have been fulfilled. Several point directly to the future and the events preceding the return of Jesus Christ👇
Daniel foretells the rise of a future world ruler known in the New Testament as the Antichrist.
He will confirm a seven-year covenant with Israel, marking the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week.
“He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.”
Daniel 9:27
Halfway through those seven years:
1) he will break his covenant
2) he will stop the Temple sacrifices
3) he will desecrate the Third Temple
4) he will declare himself to be god
Jesus referred to this event as the Abomination of Desolation.
“When you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet…”
Matthew 24:15
These events will usher in the period known as the Great Tribulation, which will conclude with the glorious Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the defeat of the Antichrist.
The Book of Daniel reveals that God rules over history and that His Kingdom will ultimately triumph over every human kingdom👇
Daniel’s visions span more than two thousand years of history.
They show that every earthly empire eventually rises and falls.
Babylon fell.
The Medo-Persian Empire disappeared.
The Greek Empire came to an end.
The Roman Empire also passed away.
Yet Daniel foretells that one final world kingdom will arise before the return of the Messiah.
This kingdom, too, will be destroyed.
“The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed.”
Daniel 2:44
That everlasting Kingdom belongs to Jesus Christ.
When He returns, He will defeat the Antichrist, establish His Millennial Kingdom, and fulfill every promise God has made to Israel.
Daniel’s prophecies remind us of one great truth: God is sovereign over history.
The fulfillment of Daniel’s past prophecies gives us confidence that those still awaiting fulfillment will come to pass with the very same precision.
For this reason, the Book of Daniel continues to encourage every generation to trust God’s Word and to live in anticipation of the glorious return of Jesus Christ.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
In this prophetic passage, Daniel announces a final period marked by a covenant, the cessation of sacrifices, and a great profanation. This verse is associated with the Antichrist and the events of the end times.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
In this passage, Daniel chooses to remain faithful to God despite the pressures of Babylonian culture. He refuses to compromise his convictions and trusts God, demonstrating the importance of obedience and faithfulness even in a hostile environment.
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
In this prophecy, Jesus announces a major end-times event: the abomination of desolation, foretold by the prophet Daniel. According to many premillennial interpretations, this event marks the midpoint of the seven-year Tribulation, when the Antichrist will desecrate the temple and demand the worship that belongs to God alone
“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”
In this prophecy, Daniel announces that the Messiah would come after a predetermined prophetic period, beginning with the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. This prophecy points to the coming of Jesus Christ, fulfilling God’s plan foretold centuries in advance.
« Il répondit : Va, Daniel, car ces paroles seront tenues secrètes et scellées jusqu’au temps de la fin. »
Dans cette prophétie, Dieu révèle à Daniel que la pleine compréhension de ces prophéties est réservée au temps de la fin. Elles demeureront scellées jusqu’au moment où elles commenceront à s’accomplir et où leur signification sera pleinement comprise.
