« And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. »
In this verse, God declares that Gog will lead a vast coalition of nations against Israel, advancing like a cloud covering the land. Yet this invasion will not take place outside of God’s control. He will allow it to happen so that He may reveal His power and holiness before all the nations.
This event will take place before the confirmation of the seven-year covenant foretold in Daniel 9:27 and before the Rapture of the Church. When Gog invades Israel, God will supernaturally destroy the invading armies, demonstrating to the whole world that He alone is the true God.
This verse shows that even the most powerful nations cannot act outside of God’s sovereign plan. What appears to be Gog’s moment of triumph will become a powerful demonstration of God’s glory, preparing the way for the prophetic events that follow.
« And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. »
In this verse, John sees seven angels entrusted with the seven last plagues, known as the seven bowls of God’s wrath. These judgments are the final outpouring of God’s wrath upon the earth before the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. It will be fulfilled near the end of the Great Tribulation, when the seven bowls of God’s wrath are poured out one after another upon the kingdom of the Antichrist. These judgments will complete God’s wrath against a world that has rejected Jesus Christ.
This verse marks the beginning of the final stage of God’s judgments. Following the seven seals and the seven trumpets, the seven bowls of God’s wrath will bring the Tribulation to its climax, preparing the way for the glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will destroy the Antichrist’s kingdom and establish His Millennial Kingdom on the earth.
« And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. »
In this passage, John describes the glorious return of Jesus Christ at the end of the Tribulation. Heaven is opened, and Jesus Christ appears riding on a white horse, a symbol of victory, glory, and triumph. Unlike the rider of the first seal in Revelation 6, who represents the Antichrist, this rider is the true King and the true Messiah.
The titles “Faithful and True” emphasize that Jesus Christ perfectly fulfills all of God’s promises and judges with perfect righteousness. His return marks the end of the Antichrist’s reign and the rebellion of the nations against God.
This verse announces the decisive intervention of Jesus Christ at the battle of Armageddon. He comes to defeat His enemies, establish righteousness on the earth, and inaugurate His Millennial Kingdom, fulfilling the prophecies recorded in the Scriptures.
« And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. »
In this verse, John describes the beginning of the eternal state, following the Great White Throne Judgment and the final judgment of evil. God creates a new heaven and a new earth, replacing the former creation that had been affected by sin, suffering, and death.
This new creation is completely renewed and perfectly pure. The statement “there was no more sea” emphasizes that the former order has completely passed away. Everything associated with the fallen world has been removed, making way for a creation where God’s presence fills all things.
This verse marks the beginning of eternity for all believers. The New Heaven and the New Earth will be the everlasting home of those who belong to Jesus Christ, where they will live forever in perfect peace, joy, and fellowship with God.
