📖  Daniel 9:27

« And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. »

In this passage, Gabriel announces that the Antichrist will confirm a seven-year covenant with many, marking the beginning of Daniel’s seventieth week. This covenant will bring a period of apparent peace and will allow the sacrificial system in Jerusalem to resume.

In the middle of the seven years, the Antichrist will break the covenant, put an end to the sacrifices, and commit the abomination of desolation by exalting himself against God and demanding the worship that belongs to God alone. This event marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation, a time of unprecedented persecution and even more severe judgments.

This verse is one of the most important prophecies concerning the last days. It announces the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation, which will ultimately be followed by the glorious return of Jesus Christ, the defeat of the Antichrist, and the establishment of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.

📖  Revelation 13:7

« And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. »

In this verse, John reveals that the Antichrist will be given authority to persecute the believers who are on the earth during the Great Tribulation. Many will be imprisoned or put to death because they refuse to worship the Beast or receive the mark of the Beast (666).

The Antichrist will also exercise worldwide authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation. His political and religious dominion will be unlike anything the world has ever seen, yet it will last only for the time that God has permitted.

This verse reminds us that, although the Antichrist appears to triumph for a time, his authority is temporary and remains under God’s sovereign control. Those who remain faithful to Jesus Christ, even at the cost of their lives, will ultimately share in His victory.

📖  Revelation 16:1

« And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. »

In this verse, John hears a mighty voice from the heavenly temple commanding the seven angels to pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath upon the earth. This command marks the beginning of the final series of judgments during the Great Tribulation.

The seven bowls represent God’s most severe judgments upon a world that continues to reject His authority. They are poured out shortly before the glorious return of Jesus Christ and prepare the way for the end of the Antichrist’s reign and the judgment of his kingdom.

This verse shows that these judgments are not random disasters but the execution of God’s perfect justice. They fulfill His prophetic plan and declare that the triumph of evil is about to come to an end.

📖  Revelation 19:11

« And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. »

In this passage, John describes the glorious return of Jesus Christ at the end of the Tribulation. Heaven is opened, and Jesus Christ appears riding on a white horse, a symbol of victory, glory, and triumph. Unlike the rider of the first seal in Revelation 6, who represents the Antichrist, this rider is the true King and the true Messiah.

The titles “Faithful and True” emphasize that Jesus Christ perfectly fulfills all of God’s promises and judges with perfect righteousness. His return marks the end of the Antichrist’s reign and the rebellion of the nations against God.

This verse announces the decisive intervention of Jesus Christ at the battle of Armageddon. He comes to defeat His enemies, establish righteousness on the earth, and inaugurate His Millennial Kingdom, fulfilling the prophecies recorded in the Scriptures.
