The Great Tribulation is the most dramatic period foretold in the entire Bible. After the Rapture of the Church, the world will enter seven years of unprecedented turmoil marked by God’s judgments, the rise of the Antichrist, and worldwide catastrophes unlike anything humanity has ever experienced.
During this period, the Antichrist will gradually establish a global government, the False Prophet will enforce the worship of the Beast and the Mark of the Beast (666), while God will continue calling people to repentance through the 144,000 Jewish servants and the Two Witnesses.
Halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will break his covenant with Israel, desecrate the Third Temple, and begin the period known as the Great Tribulation, an unparalleled persecution against all who refuse to worship him.
This period will end when Jesus Christ visibly returns at the Battle of Armageddon to defeat the Antichrist, rescue Israel, judge the nations, and establish His Millennial Kingdom.

The Great Tribulation is the seven-year period that follows the Rapture of the Church and precedes the visible return of Jesus Christ👇
The Bible describes this period as the most difficult time in all of human history.
Jesus declared:
“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world.”
Matthew 24:21
This period corresponds to the final week of Daniel’s prophecy.
It begins when the Antichrist confirms a seven-year peace covenant involving Israel.
During these seven years, many major prophetic events will unfold:
1) he rise of the Antichrist
2) the rebuilding of the Third Temple
3) the ministry of the 144,000
4) the ministry of the Two Witnesses
5) the opening of the Seven Seals
6) the sounding of the Seven Trumpets
7) the pouring out of the Seven Bowls of God’s wrath
8) the enforcement of the Mark of the Beast (666)
9) worldwide persecution of believers
10) the Battle of Armageddon
The first half of the Tribulation will be marked by a period of apparent peace and growing global unity.
However, halfway through the seven years, the Antichrist will reveal his true identity.
The second half is known as the Great Tribulation because it will be characterized by unprecedented persecution, deception, and divine judgment unlike anything the world has ever experienced.
The Great Tribulation will be a time when God’s judgments and humanity’s rebellion reach their highest point👇
The Antichrist will become the undisputed ruler of the world.
The False Prophet will persuade the nations to worship him.
The Mark of the Beast will become mandatory for buying and selling.
“No one may buy or sell except one who has the mark.”
Revelation 13:17
At the same time, God will continue offering salvation.
1) The Two Witnesses will proclaim the truth in Jerusalem.
2) The 144,000 Jewish servants will preach the Gospel throughout the world.
A countless multitude of people will turn to God despite intense persecution.
Meanwhile, God’s judgments will increase in severity through:
1) the Seven Seals
2) the Seven Trumpets
3) the Seven Bowls
These judgments will affect:
1) he oceans
2) the rivers
3) the earth
4) the heavens
5) the kingdoms of the world
Yet despite these warnings, much of humanity will continue to reject God and refuse to repent.
The Great Tribulation will reveal both God’s perfect justice against sin and His extraordinary mercy toward those who still choose to place their faith in Him.
The Great Tribulation will end with the visible return of Jesus Christ and His complete victory over the Antichrist👇
At the end of the seven years, the nations of the world will gather against Jerusalem for the Battle of Armageddon.
Just when Israel appears to have no hope, Jesus Christ will return in glory.
“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him.”
Revelation 1:7
The Lord will destroy the armies of the Antichrist.
The False Prophet will be judged.
The Antichrist will be permanently defeated.
“The beast was captured, and with him the false prophet.”
Revelation 19:20
Israel will finally recognize Jesus as the promised Messiah.
“They will look on Me whom they pierced.”
Zechariah 12:10
After this victory, Satan will be bound for one thousand years.
Jesus Christ will establish His Kingdom from Jerusalem and begin His Millennial reign foretold by the prophets.
The Great Tribulation is therefore not the end of history.
It prepares the way for the glorious return of the King of kings, the fulfillment of God’s promises to Israel, the establishment of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom, and ultimately the creation of the New Earth and the New Jerusalem.

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ announces a time of unprecedented suffering in world history, the Great Tribulation of the end times.
“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”
In this prophetic vision, John announces the visible and glorious return of Jesus Christ. At His Second Coming, every eye will see Him, fulfilling the prophecies concerning His return to judge the nations and establish His everlasting kingdom.
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” 👇
In this prophetic passage, John describes the final judgment of the Beast (the Antichrist) and the False Prophet. After deceiving the nations and leading many people to receive the mark of the Beast, they are ultimately judged by God.
“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
In this prophecy, Zechariah announces a time when the people of Israel will recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah. When they look upon the One they have pierced, they will experience deep repentance. This prophecy will be fulfilled at the glorious return of Christ at the end of the Tribulation.
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” 👇
In this prophetic vision, John sees believers who remained faithful to Jesus Christ, refusing to worship the Beast or receive its mark. They are raised to life and reign with Christ for one thousand years.
