29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
In this verse, John the Baptist recognizes Jesus as the Lamb of God, the One who came to accomplish God's plan of salvation. This expression refers to the sacrifices of the Old Testament, where a lamb was offered for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus is presented as the perfect sacrifice who takes away sin completely.
The expression “which taketh away the sin of the world” announces Jesus’ mission: to die for the sins of humanity and offer forgiveness to those who place their faith in Him. Unlike the sacrifices of the Old Testament, which had to be repeated, Jesus’ sacrifice is unique and fully sufficient.
This verse reveals that Jesus is the promised Messiah and the Savior, who came to fulfill the prophecies and bring reconciliation between God and humanity.
« And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. »
In this passage, John sees Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, open the first of the seven seals of the sealed scroll. This event marks the beginning of the judgments of the Tribulation. Only Jesus Christ is worthy to open the seals and carry out God’s prophetic plan for the last days.
The opening of the first seal takes place after the Rapture of the Church. It introduces the first judgment of the Tribulation with the appearance of the rider on the white horse, symbolizing the beginning of the Antichrist’s worldwide rule. From this point onward, God’s judgments unfold until the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
This verse reminds us that Jesus Christ is sovereign over all history. The events of the Tribulation are not random, but the fulfillment of God’s perfect plan. Each seal that is opened brings the world one step closer to the return of Jesus Christ, the defeat of evil, and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
In this passage, John describes the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, celebrating the union of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, with His Church, His bride. Clothed in fine linen, clean and white, the Church is presented as ready to meet her Lord, while great rejoicing fills heaven.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. According to the prophetic chronology presented on this website, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will take place after the Rapture of the Church, in heaven, and before the glorious return of Jesus Christ to the earth. It immediately precedes Christ’s return described in Revelation 19:11.
This passage reveals the joyful culmination of the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Church. After being saved by His grace, believers will take part in this heavenly celebration before returning with Christ at His glorious return, when He establishes His Millennial Kingdom on the earth.
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
In this passage, John sees a scene of worship in heaven where all creation gives glory to God and to the Lamb. Jesus is called “the Lamb that was slain,” referring to His sacrifice on the cross to redeem humanity.
The Lamb is declared worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory, and blessing. This proclamation shows that Jesus possesses divine authority and that He alone is worthy to open the sealed scroll containing the fulfillment of God’s plan.
The fact that all creation worships the One seated on the throne and the Lamb reveals the honor given to both the Father and Jesus. This universal worship announces Jesus’ eternal reign and the recognition of His authority over all creation.
This passage shows that Jesus, as the sacrificed Lamb and victorious King, is at the center of God’s plan and will receive the glory that belongs to Him forever.
