« And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. »
In this verse, John reveals that the False Prophet will establish a worldwide economic system under the authority of the Antichrist. Anyone who refuses to receive the mark of the Beast, his name, or the number of his name (666) will be excluded from the global economy and will not be able to buy or sell.
This event will take place during the Great Tribulation, after the False Prophet enforces the worship of the Beast. Those who refuse to receive the mark of the Beast (666) will face severe persecution and will be cut off from all economic activity. Many will remain faithful to Jesus Christ, even at the cost of their lives.
This verse shows the extent of the Antichrist’s control over the world. It reminds us that faithfulness to Jesus Christ during the Great Tribulation will require great courage, but God will grant eternal life to those who refuse to deny their faith despite persecution.
« Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. »
In this verse, John reveals that the number of the Beast is 666. This number is directly associated with the Antichrist and will identify his authority and worldwide system. John calls those who have wisdom and understanding to recognize the significance of this number when it is revealed.
This event will take place during the Great Tribulation, when the Antichrist establishes his global government and the False Prophet enforces the mark of the Beast (666). This number will become the symbol of allegiance to the Antichrist and will be linked to the political, economic, and religious system he establishes.
This verse serves as a solemn warning against giving allegiance to the Antichrist. Those who choose to follow the Beast will face God’s judgment, while those who remain faithful to Jesus Christ, even in the face of severe persecution, will receive eternal life.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
In this passage, John sees a third angel proclaiming a solemn warning to all humanity. Anyone who chooses to worship the Beast and receive the mark of the Beast (666) will openly declare allegiance to the Antichrist and will face the eternal judgment of God.
This warning will be proclaimed during the Great Tribulation, when the False Prophet enforces the worship of the Beast and requires people to receive the mark of the Beast (666). Despite intense worldwide pressure and persecution, God will still call people to reject the Antichrist and turn to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
This passage emphasizes the seriousness of the choice humanity will face. Receiving the mark of the Beast will not be merely an economic decision, but a deliberate act of allegiance to the Antichrist. Those who remain faithful to Jesus Christ, even at the cost of their lives, will receive eternal life, while those who follow the Beast will face God’s righteous judgment.
« Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. »
In this passage, Jesus Christ makes a promise to the church in Philadelphia. Because these believers have remained faithful to His Word, He promises to keep them from the hour of trial that will come upon the whole world. This period refers to the Tribulation, during which God’s judgments will be poured out upon the inhabitants of the earth.
This promise points to the Rapture of the Church before the beginning of the Tribulation. Believers will be kept from this time of judgment while God’s prophetic plan unfolds on the earth.
This verse is one of the great promises of hope for believers. It reminds us that Jesus Christ is faithful to His Word and will preserve His Church from the coming time of judgment. It encourages Christians to remain faithful as they confidently await the return of the Lord.
