The Book of Daniel contains some of the most extraordinary prophecies in the entire Bible. Written more than five centuries before the birth of Jesus Christ, these prophecies accurately foretold the rise and fall of world empires, the coming of the Messiah, His death, the events of the end times, the appearance of the Antichrist, and the establishment of God’s eternal Kingdom.
Daniel’s prophecies form the foundation for many of the end-times teachings later revealed by Jesus in the Gospels and expanded in the Book of Revelation. For this reason, they are often considered the key to understanding God’s prophetic timeline.
Many of Daniel’s prophecies have already been fulfilled with remarkable precision, while others await their fulfillment during the future Tribulation and the glorious return of Jesus Christ.

Daniel’s prophecies are among the most remarkable in the entire Bible because they accurately predicted major historical events centuries before they happened👇
Around 539 BC, God gave Daniel a series of visions revealing world history from his own time until the establishment of the Messiah’s eternal Kingdom.
Several of these prophecies have already been fulfilled with extraordinary precision.
Daniel foretold:
1) the succession of the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek, and Roman Empires (Daniel 2 and 7)
2) the coming of the Messiah (Daniel 9:25)
3) the death of the Messiah (Daniel 9:26)
4) the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple (Daniel 9:26).
History confirms these fulfillments:
539 BC – Babylon fell to the Medo-Persian Empire.
331 BC – Alexander the Great defeated the Persian Empire.
63 BC – Rome took control of Jerusalem.
Around AD 32 – Jesus entered Jerusalem as the promised Messiah.
AD 32–33 – Jesus Christ was crucified.
AD 70 – Jerusalem and the Second Temple were destroyed by the Romans.
These fulfilled prophecies demonstrate that God knows the future and carries out His plan exactly as He has declared.
Not all of Daniel’s prophecies have been fulfilled. Several point directly to the future and the events preceding the return of Jesus Christ👇
Daniel foretells the rise of a future world ruler known in the New Testament as the Antichrist.
He will confirm a seven-year covenant with Israel, marking the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week.
“He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.”
Daniel 9:27
Halfway through those seven years:
1) he will break his covenant
2) he will stop the Temple sacrifices
3) he will desecrate the Third Temple
4) he will declare himself to be god
Jesus referred to this event as the Abomination of Desolation.
“When you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet…”
Matthew 24:15
These events will usher in the period known as the Great Tribulation, which will conclude with the glorious Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the defeat of the Antichrist.
The Book of Daniel reveals that God rules over history and that His Kingdom will ultimately triumph over every human kingdom👇
Daniel’s visions span more than two thousand years of history.
They show that every earthly empire eventually rises and falls.
Babylon fell.
The Medo-Persian Empire disappeared.
The Greek Empire came to an end.
The Roman Empire also passed away.
Yet Daniel foretells that one final world kingdom will arise before the return of the Messiah.
This kingdom, too, will be destroyed.
“The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed.”
Daniel 2:44
That everlasting Kingdom belongs to Jesus Christ.
When He returns, He will defeat the Antichrist, establish His Millennial Kingdom, and fulfill every promise God has made to Israel.
Daniel’s prophecies remind us of one great truth: God is sovereign over history.
The fulfillment of Daniel’s past prophecies gives us confidence that those still awaiting fulfillment will come to pass with the very same precision.
For this reason, the Book of Daniel continues to encourage every generation to trust God’s Word and to live in anticipation of the glorious return of Jesus Christ.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
In this prophetic passage, Daniel announces a final period marked by a covenant, the cessation of sacrifices, and a great profanation. This verse is associated with the Antichrist and the events of the end times.
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
In this prophetic verse, Daniel is told that the full understanding of these prophecies would be reserved for the time of the end. The passage also speaks of a great increase in movement and knowledge in the last days.
“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.”
In this prophecy, Daniel announces the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom, which will bring an end to all human kingdoms. This prophecy will be fulfilled at the glorious return of Jesus Christ, when He establishes His everlasting kingdom that will never be destroyed.
“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”
In this prophecy, Daniel announces the seventy weeks of God’s plan for Israel and Jerusalem. They lead to the fulfillment of salvation, the coming of the Messiah, the establishment of everlasting righteousness, and the fulfillment of God’s purposes for His people.
“And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.”
In this prophecy, Daniel sees the Son of Man receiving dominion, glory, and an everlasting kingdom from God. This prophecy points to the universal and eternal reign of Jesus Christ, when all peoples and nations will be subject to His authority.
