📖  Revelation 14:1-5

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

In this passage, John sees Jesus Christ, the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion with the 144,000 Israelites who were sealed at the beginning of the Tribulation (Revelation 7). Despite the Antichrist’s persecution and the judgments poured out upon the earth, they have remained faithful to God and completed the mission He entrusted to them.

The 144,000 bear the name of God the Father on their foreheads, showing that they belong to Him. They sing a new song that no one else can learn, reflecting their unique experience and their faithfulness to the Lamb. They are described as servants wholly devoted to God, walking in purity, truth, and obedience.

This passage highlights God’s faithfulness to His servants. Having come safely through the Tribulation, the 144,000 stand victorious with Jesus Christ, demonstrating that God always fulfills His promises and faithfully preserves those who belong to Him.

📖  Revelation 14:6-7

6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

In this passage, John sees an angel proclaiming the everlasting gospel to everyone living on the earth. This message is directed to every nation, tribe, language, and people during the Great Tribulation, just before God’s final judgments are poured out.

The angel calls all humanity to fear God, give Him glory, and worship Him as the Creator of heaven, earth, the sea, and the springs of water. He also announces that the hour of God’s judgment has come, warning the world that the opportunity to repent is rapidly coming to an end.

This passage shows that, even in the midst of the Tribulation, God continues to offer humanity one final opportunity to turn to Him before the seven bowls of His wrath are poured out and before the glorious return of Jesus Christ. It highlights God’s justice and mercy, as He warns the world before carrying out His final judgments.

📖  Revelation 14:8

« And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. »

In this verse, John sees a second angel proclaiming the certain fall of Babylon the Great. It represents the worldwide system in rebellion against God, exercising religious, political, and economic influence over the nations, leading them into idolatry and opposition to the Lord.

This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. It announces in advance the judgment of Babylon the Great, whose destruction is described in detail in Revelation 17 and 18. According to the prophetic chronology presented on this website, religious Babylon will be destroyed by the Antichrist and the ten kings during the Great Tribulation (Revelation 17:16), while commercial and economic Babylon will be destroyed by God’s judgment near the end of the Great Tribulation, shortly before the glorious return of Jesus Christ.

This verse reminds us that, despite its worldwide power and influence, Babylon the Great cannot escape God’s judgment. Its fall will mark the end of the world’s rebellious system and prepare the way for Jesus Christ to establish His Millennial Kingdom.

📖  Revelation 14:9-11

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

In this passage, John sees a third angel proclaiming a solemn warning to the whole world. Anyone who worships the Beast, his image, or receives the mark of the Beast on the forehead or hand will face the eternal judgment of God. This warning reveals the seriousness of choosing to follow the Antichrist rather than Jesus Christ.

This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. It will be fulfilled during the Great Tribulation, when the False Prophet will require the world to worship the Beast and receive the mark of the Beast (666). Before these judgments fall, God will still mercifully warn humanity through this angel, giving people the opportunity to reject the Antichrist and place their faith in Jesus Christ.

This passage emphasizes God’s perfect justice and the eternal consequences of every person’s decision regarding Jesus Christ. Despite the worldwide pressure to worship the Beast, God will provide a final warning. Those who remain faithful to Christ, even at the cost of their lives, will receive eternal life, while those who choose to worship the Beast and receive his mark will face eternal judgment.
