📖 UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE
41 As you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have in it some of the strength of iron, just as you saw the iron mixed with clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong and partly fragile.
43 As you saw the iron mixed with clay, they will combine with one another in human alliances, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.
In this passage, Daniel explains the final part of the prophetic statue that King Nebuchadnezzar saw in his vision. The feet and the ten toes made of iron and clay represent a final kingdom that will appear in the last days. This kingdom will possess a certain strength, but it will also be marked by division and weakness.
The mixture of iron and clay shows that there will be an attempt to unite several powers through human alliances, but this union will remain fragile. The iron represents the strength and authority of this system, while the clay reveals its lack of true unity and its inability to form a lasting and stable alliance.
This vision announces the context of the final world system associated with the ten kings of Revelation, who will receive authority alongside the Antichrist during the Tribulation. Despite their apparent power, their dominion will be limited and temporary.
This prophecy reveals that human kingdoms will eventually be replaced by the eternal kingdom of Jesus. The stone cut out without human hands, mentioned later in Daniel’s vision, represents God’s kingdom, which will destroy human kingdoms and establish a kingdom that will never pass away.
« And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. »
In this passage, Gabriel announces that the Antichrist will confirm a seven-year covenant with many, marking the beginning of Daniel’s seventieth week. This covenant will bring a period of apparent peace and will allow the sacrificial system in Jerusalem to resume.
In the middle of the seven years, the Antichrist will break the covenant, put an end to the sacrifices, and commit the abomination of desolation by exalting himself against God and demanding the worship that belongs to God alone. This event marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation, a time of unprecedented persecution and even more severe judgments.
This verse is one of the most important prophecies concerning the last days. It announces the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation, which will ultimately be followed by the glorious return of Jesus Christ, the defeat of the Antichrist, and the establishment of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.
14 They will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.
In this passage, John describes the final confrontation between the powers led by the Beast and Jesus, represented by the Lamb. The ten kings and the Beast will unite to oppose Jesus, but their rebellion will end in complete defeat.
The Lamb is presented as the Lord of lords and King of kings, revealing that His authority is greater than all human kingdoms. Even though the Antichrist and his allies will appear to control the world during the Tribulation, their power remains limited and will ultimately be overcome by Jesus.
This passage also shows that those who are with Jesus — the called, chosen, and faithful — will share in His victory. It reveals the certainty of the final outcome: the forces of evil will be defeated, and the righteous reign of Jesus will be established.
This prophecy will be fulfilled at the end of the Tribulation, when the nations gather against Jesus before His glorious return and the final victory at Armageddon.
12 The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who will receive authority as kings for one hour along with the beast.
13 They have one purpose, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.
In this passage, John receives the explanation of the ten horns of the beast. They represent ten kings who will appear in the last days and who will receive temporary authority alongside the Beast, representing the system led by the Antichrist.
These ten rulers will not exercise their power independently but will unite with the same purpose. They will give their power and authority to the Antichrist, allowing him to expand his influence and establish his rule during the Tribulation.
This alliance reveals the structure of the final political system announced in biblical prophecy. Although these rulers will appear to possess great power, their authority will be limited and granted only for a short period according to God’s plan.
This prophecy will be fulfilled during the Tribulation, when the ten kings unite with the Antichrist before ultimately being defeated by Jesus at His glorious return.
