📖  Revelation 11:3

« And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. »

In this verse, God declares that He will appoint the Two Witnesses to carry out a special ministry for 1,260 days, or three and a half years. Clothed in sackcloth, they proclaim God’s message with a call to repentance, symbolizing humility and mourning over sin.

Their ministry takes place during the first half of the Tribulation. Despite fierce opposition and persecution, they faithfully proclaim God’s truth and warn the nations of the judgments that are to come.

This verse highlights God’s grace, as He continues to send faithful witnesses even in the midst of His judgments. The Two Witnesses will faithfully complete the mission God has given them before they are killed and later raised to life by God’s power, demonstrating that nothing can prevent the fulfillment of His plan.

📖  Revelation 11:5-6

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

In this passage, John describes the extraordinary powers that God gives to the Two Witnesses during their 1,260-day ministry. God protects them from their enemies until their mission is fully completed, and no one can stop their testimony before the time He has appointed.

The Two Witnesses are given authority to perform great miracles. They can shut up heaven so that no rain falls, turn water into blood, and strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they choose. These miraculous signs confirm that their message comes from God and serve as a powerful call to repentance.

This passage demonstrates that God equips and protects those whom He calls to serve Him. Despite the world’s opposition, the Two Witnesses faithfully complete their mission, showing that God’s power is greater than any human or spiritual opposition.

📖  Revelation 11:11

« And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. »

In this verse, John describes the resurrection of the Two Witnesses after they have lain dead for three and a half days. Just when the world believes their testimony has been permanently silenced, God miraculously restores them to life in the sight of everyone.

Their resurrection is a powerful demonstration of God’s authority over death. Those who witness this extraordinary event are filled with great fear as they see the Two Witnesses stand on their feet once again.

This verse shows that nothing can prevent the fulfillment of God’s plan. Even death cannot overcome those whom He upholds. The resurrection of the Two Witnesses confirms the truth of their message and reveals God’s sovereign power over life and death.

📖  2Peter 3:9

« The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. »

In this verse, Peter answers those who believe that Jesus Christ is delaying His return. He explains that this apparent delay is not because God is unfaithful to His promise, but because of His patience and mercy toward humanity.

God’s desire is for people to repent and turn to Him before the time of grace comes to an end. For this reason, He continues to give everyone the opportunity to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

This verse reveals the heart of God. He is patient, compassionate, and gives every person the opportunity to respond to His invitation. It reminds us that the return of Jesus Christ is certain, but until that day, God continues to extend His grace, calling all who are willing to come to Him.
