6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
In this passage, John describes the third and fourth seals of Revelation. The third seal brings a great famine, with basic food becoming extremely expensive, illustrating a worldwide food crisis. The fourth seal reveals the pale horse, whose rider is called Death, followed by Hell. They are given authority to kill a quarter of the earth’s population through war, famine, disease, and the wild beasts of the earth.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. According to the prophetic chronology presented on this website, these events will take place after the Rapture of the Church, during the early part of the Tribulation, when Jesus Christ opens the third and fourth seals.
This passage shows the rapid escalation of God’s judgments during the Tribulation. Following the turmoil of the first two seals, famine and death will spread on an unprecedented scale, demonstrating the severity of God’s judgment and pointing toward the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
In this passage, John sees 144,000 Israelites—12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel—being sealed on their foreheads with the seal of God. Before the next series of judgments is poured out on the earth, God sets these servants apart and protects them for the special mission He has appointed for them during the Tribulation.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. According to the prophetic chronology presented on this website, it will be fulfilled after the opening of the sixth seal and before the seventh seal, during the Tribulation. The sealing of the 144,000 marks a pause between the judgments, demonstrating that God continues to fulfill His plan for Israel.
This passage highlights God’s faithfulness to His covenant people. As His judgments intensify upon the earth, God preserves these 144,000 servants from Israel, who will play a unique role in the fulfillment of His prophetic plan throughout the Tribulation.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
In this passage, Paul foretells the coming of the Antichrist, whom he calls the man of sin and the son of perdition. Before the Day of the Lord, there will be a great apostasy, and the Antichrist will be openly revealed as he opposes God.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. It will be fulfilled in the middle of the seven-year Tribulation, when the Antichrist enters the Third Temple in Jerusalem, brings the sacrifices to an end, and declares himself to be God. This event is the abomination of desolation foretold in Daniel 9:27 and confirmed by Jesus in Matthew 24:15.
This passage reveals the ultimate arrogance of the Antichrist, who will demand the worship that belongs to God alone. This act will mark the beginning of the Great Tribulation and will precede his final judgment at the glorious return of Jesus Christ.
« And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. »
In this verse, God declares that He will appoint the Two Witnesses to carry out a special ministry for 1,260 days, or three and a half years. Clothed in sackcloth, they proclaim God’s message with a call to repentance, symbolizing humility and mourning over sin.
Their ministry takes place during the first half of the Tribulation. Despite fierce opposition and persecution, they faithfully proclaim God’s truth and warn the nations of the judgments that are to come.
This verse highlights God’s grace, as He continues to send faithful witnesses even in the midst of His judgments. The Two Witnesses will faithfully complete the mission God has given them before they are killed and later raised to life by God’s power, demonstrating that nothing can prevent the fulfillment of His plan.
The Church is made up of all who truly belong to Jesus Christ—those who have placed their faith in Him, have been born again, have a personal relationship with Him, are filled with the Holy Spirit, and remain faithful until His return. According to this understanding, the Rapture does not include everyone who claims to be a Christian, but only the true members of the Church of Jesus Christ.
