“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
Jesus Christ tells believers to stay ready, watchful, and close to God so they may escape the terrible events of the end times and be prepared when He returns.
“Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ describes a sudden separation between people at His return. Many see this as a picture of the rapture of believers.
“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ announces a time of unprecedented suffering in world history, the Great Tribulation of the end times.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
In this prophetic passage, Paul the Apostle announces that before the Day of the Lord there will come a great apostasy and the revelation of “the man of sin,” identified as the Antichrist, who will seek to be worshiped as God.
“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
In this prophetic vision, John sees a great multitude of believers who have come through the Great Tribulation. They are purified and saved through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who is called “the Lamb” here.
