The Bible teaches that no one knows the exact date of the Rapture👇
This event will happen suddenly, at the time chosen by God. But Jesus warned us to stay ready and watchful, because His return can happen at any moment.
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
Matthew 24:36
“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”
Matthew 24:42
“The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”
1 Thessalonians 5:2
Even though the exact date remains unknown, the Bible announces signs showing that this moment is approaching.
The Bible describes several prophetic events connected to the end times👇
Even though no sign gives the exact date of Jesus’ return, many biblical prophecies announce events that will precede the Rapture and the tribulation.
Among the signs most often mentioned:
1) the return of Israel to its land,
2) the increase of apostasy,
3) global conflicts,
4) technological advances allowing worldwide surveillance,
5) the worldwide preaching of the Gospel, and 6) the future confirmation of a peace covenant.
📖 The return of Israel is considered by many to be one of the greatest prophetic signs of the end times.
“Can a nation be born in a day?”
Isaiah 66:8
📖 The Bible also announces an increase of apostasy and a turning away from God in the last days.
“In later times some will depart from the faith.”
1 Timothy 4:1
📖 Ezekiel 38–39 describes a future attack against Israel led by several nations.
“You will come against the land of Israel.”
Ezekiel 38:16
📖 Daniel also announces the confirmation of a covenant connected to a period of 7 years.
“He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.”
Daniel 9:27
📖 Jesus declared that the Gospel would be preached throughout the whole world before the end.
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world.”
Matthew 24:14
These events show that the Rapture of the Church could be near.
Yes, the Rapture will take place before the tribulation period described in the book of Revelation👇
The Bible teaches that God will protect His people from the wrath that is coming upon the world.
“I will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world.”
Revelation 3:10
“God has not appointed us to wrath.”
1 Thessalonians 5:9
“Pray… that you may be able to escape all these things.”
Luke 21:36
The Church is no longer mentioned after chapter 4 of the book of Revelation.

God commands Ezekiel to prophesy against Gog, from the land of Magog.
Gog is presented as the leader of a coalition of nations coming to attack Israel.
Several peoples are mentioned as allies:
Persia → Iran
Cush → Sudan / Ethiopia
Put → Libya
Gomer → regions associated with Turkey
Togarmah → Armenia / eastern Turkey 👇
The attack takes place while Israel is living in safety. God declares that He will bring Gog against His people in order to reveal His glory before the nations. A great divine wrath will break out against the invaders.
God will send:
1) a great earthquake
2) confusion among the armies
3) pestilence and bloodshed
4) torrential rain
5) hailstones, fire, and brimstone
The chapter ends with the declaration that the nations will know that the Lord is God.
Central passage
Book of Ezekiel — Ezekiel 38:22–23 (KJV):
“And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
Simple explanation
The prophet Daniel speaks about a future ruler often identified, in prophetic Christian interpretation, as the Antichrist. 👇
The verse describes several events:
1) A covenant with many
2) This ruler will make an agreement or treaty with many nations or peoples for one prophetic “week” (one week = 7 years).
3) The stopping of sacrifices
4) In the middle of this period (after 3½ years), he will break the agreement and stop the sacrifices in the Temple.
5) A profanation
6) He will commit the “abomination of desolation,” meaning an extremely serious profanation of the holy place.
This passage is also mentioned by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24.
Revelation 3:10 affirms that the faithful Church will be raptured before the 7 years of tribulation.
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
The expression:
“I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation” affirms that Jesus Christ will remove His Church before this worldwide period of judgment. 👇
The tribulation concerns “those who dwell on the earth,” while the Church will already be with the Lord.
Verses confirming the rapture before the tribulation
First Epistle to the Thessalonians — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
“…we shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…”
This passage affirms the supernatural rapture of believers.
First Epistle to the Thessalonians — 1 Thessalonians 5:9
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath…”
Since the 7 years of tribulation are a time of divine wrath, the Church will not go through this period.
First Epistle to the Corinthians — 1 Corinthians 15:51–52
“…we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye…”
The Church will be instantly transformed at the rapture.
Book of Daniel — Daniel 9:27
Daniel announces a final prophetic period of 7 years during which the Antichrist will rule before his final judgment.
Book of Revelation — Revelation 4:1
“Come up hither.”
After this, the Church is no longer mentioned on earth, confirming that it was raptured before the opening of the first seal in Revelation, which marks the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation.
Prophetic timeline
1) The Church is raptured.
2) The 7 years of tribulation begin.
3) The Antichrist establishes his covenant.
4) Judgments strike the earth.
5) Jesus Christ returns in glory at the end of the tribulation. (This is His second coming, and this time He will be visible to everyone.)
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
In this passage, Jesus Christ teaches that no one knows the exact time of His return except God the Father. This verse calls believers to remain watchful and ready at all times.
