“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
In this famous verse, Jesus Christ is presented as God’s gift for the salvation of the world, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him.
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
In this verse, Jesus Christ explains the purpose of His coming: to seek and save those who are spiritually lost.
“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
In this passage, the angel announces the resurrection of Jesus Christ after His crucifixion, confirming that He conquered death just as He had promised.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
In this prophetic passage, Paul describes the rapture of believers: the dead in Christ will rise first, then living believers will be caught up to meet Jesus Christ in the air.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
In this verse, Paul teaches that God’s love was demonstrated in the greatest way through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. While humanity was still in sin, Christ died to offer salvation to all who believe in Him.
“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”
In this verse, Jesus Christ responds to Philip by revealing His perfect unity with the Father. He teaches that to know and see Jesus is to know and see the Father, because He perfectly reveals God’s character and nature.
