“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
In this verse, Jesus Christ describes the personal relationship between Himself and His disciples: they recognize His voice, belong to Him, and faithfully follow Him.
How should the true sheep of Jesus behave? 👇
1) They listen to the voice of Jesus Christ through His Word.
2) They obey Him and seek to follow His teachings.
3) They remain faithful even through difficulties.
4) They seek the truth and reject false teachings.
5) They live with love, humility, and repentance.
How can they be recognized?
According to the teachings of Jesus:
1) They bear good fruit in their lives.
2) They love God and others.
3) They persevere in the faith.
4) They do not blindly follow the world.
5) They seek to do the will of God.
6) They seek to please God rather than men.
7) They speak about Jesus to those around them.
True sheep are therefore not recognized only by their words, but especially by the way they live and by their faithfulness to Jesus Christ.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
In this passage, Jesus Christ promises His disciples that He will return to take them to be with Him forever.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
In this verse, Paul the Apostle teaches that salvation is a gift from God received through faith, not something that can be earned by human works.
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
In this verse, Paul the Apostle teaches that God truly knows those who belong to Him, and that true believers must turn away from sin and live in holiness.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
In this prophetic passage, Paul describes the rapture of believers: the dead in Christ will rise first, then living believers will be caught up to meet Jesus Christ in the air.
