34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
In this passage, Jesus describes a sudden separation between people. While everyday life continues as normal, some will be taken, while others will be left behind. This separation emphasizes that every individual must be personally prepared for the coming of the Lord.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. According to the prophetic chronology presented on this website, it will be fulfilled at the Rapture of the Church, after the invasion of Gog and Magog, after the confirmation of the seven-year covenant, and before the beginning of the judgments of the Tribulation. In a single moment, Jesus Christ will take all who belong to Him, while those who have rejected His salvation will remain on the earth to enter the Tribulation.
This passage highlights the sudden and personal nature of the Rapture. It reminds us that every individual must personally respond to Jesus Christ, because no one can be spiritually prepared on behalf of someone else.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
In this passage, Paul clearly describes the Rapture of the Church. Jesus Christ will descend from heaven, the dead in Christ shall rise first, and then those who belong to Christ and are part of His Church who are still alive will be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air. The Church is the Bride of Christ: she belongs to Him and will be united with her Bridegroom at the Rapture.
This event will take place before the beginning of the seven-year Tribulation. Jesus Christ will meet His Church in the air and take her to Himself. It is important to clarify that not all believers will be raptured: the Rapture concerns those who belong to Christ and are part of His Church. After the Rapture, other people will still be able to believe in Jesus Christ during the Tribulation, but they will not become part of the Church, because the Church will already have been raptured. The Church Age will therefore come to an end at the Rapture, after which God will continue His prophetic plan concerning Israel and the nations.
This passage is one of the clearest promises concerning the Rapture of the Church. It gives a special hope to those who belong to Christ and are part of His Church: they will be reunited with those who have been raised and will be with the Lord forever.
« In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. »
In this verse, Paul describes the miraculous transformation that will take place at the Rapture of the Church. In an instant, the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, while those who belong to Christ and are part of His Church and are still alive will be transformed. Their mortal bodies will become incorruptible and immortal.
The word “we” is especially important. Paul includes himself when he says, “we shall be changed.” He therefore places himself among those who could still be alive when the Rapture takes place. Paul faithfully served Jesus Christ and lived in expectation of His coming. This passage therefore does not simply refer to all believers, but to those who, like Paul, belong to Christ and are part of His Church.
This verse highlights God’s power over death and corruption. At the Rapture, Jesus Christ will transform those who belong to Him and are part of His Church, giving them incorruptible and immortal bodies so that they may be forever with their Lord.
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
In this passage, Jesus comforts His disciples by promising that He is preparing a place for them in His Father’s house. He assures them that He will personally return to receive them, so that they may be with Him forever.
This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled, it will be fulfilled at the Rapture of the Church, after the invasion of Gog and Magog, after the confirmation of the seven-year covenant foretold in Daniel 9:27, and before the beginning of the judgments of the Tribulation. At that time, Jesus Christ will come for His Church and take all believers to the Father’s house.
This passage contains one of Jesus Christ’s greatest promises to His Church. It assures believers that He is preparing an eternal dwelling place for them and that He will personally return to receive them. This blessed hope encourages Christians to live with faith, peace, and joyful expectation as they await His coming.
