📖  Revelation 16:13-14

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

In this passage, John describes a demonic activity that will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation, as the final judgments of God are about to lead to the Glorious Return of Jesus. The dragon, the beast, and the false prophet will be the source of three unclean spirits that will work to deceive the rulers of the earth.

These demonic spirits will perform signs and go to the kings of the earth to persuade them to gather for battle. Their activity will directly prepare the gathering of the nations' armies for Armageddon, at the very end of the Great Tribulation.

This scene shows that demonic powers will play a decisive role in preparing this final confrontation. The rulers of the nations will be drawn into this gathering, but they will ultimately face God's judgment at the Glorious Return of Jesus.

📖  Revelation 16:16

« And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. »

In this verse, John reveals that the demonic spirits sent by Satan, the Beast, and the False Prophet will gather the kings and armies of the world to Armageddon. This place will become the scene of the final great confrontation between the rebellious nations of the earth and Jesus Christ.

This event will take place near the end of the Great Tribulation, during the sixth judgment of the seven bowls of God’s wrath. The nations will be assembled for war, but their gathering will lead directly to the glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will decisively defeat the Antichrist and his armies.

This verse shows that the rulers of the world will believe they can oppose God, yet they will actually be fulfilling His prophetic plan revealed in Scripture. The battle of Armageddon will bring the reign of the Antichrist to an end and prepare the way for the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

📖  Zechariah 14:2-3

2 For I will gather all nations to battle against Jerusalem; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.  

3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

In this passage, Zechariah describes the gathering of the nations against Jerusalem and God's direct intervention. This prophecy concerns the end of the Great Tribulation, when the nations will gather for the final confrontation.

Verse 2 shows the scale of the attack against Jerusalem: the nations will gather against the city, and part of its inhabitants will be taken into captivity. This scene corresponds to the gathering of the armies for Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation.

But the situation will change with God's intervention. Jesus will return to fight against the nations that have risen against Jerusalem. Verse 3 therefore presents the Glorious Return of Jesus as the decisive intervention that will end this attack and lead to the defeat of the rebellious nations.

This prophecy shows that Jerusalem will have a central place in the events immediately preceding the Return of Jesus and the establishment of His Millennial Kingdom.

📖  Revelation 19:11-21

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

In this passage, John describes the glorious return of Jesus Christ at the head of the armies of heaven. He comes as the King of kings and Lord of lords to judge the nations, defeat His enemies, and bring the reign of the Antichrist to an end.

This event will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation, after the armies of the world have gathered at Armageddon. Jesus Christ will destroy the rebellious armies, the Antichrist and the False Prophet will be cast alive into the lake of fire, and Satan will then be bound for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3). This victory will usher in the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ on the earth.

This passage proclaims the final triumph of Jesus Christ over every evil power. The One who came the first time as the Savior will return as the Judge and the King, fulfilling the prophecies of both the Old and New Testaments and establishing His righteous reign over all the earth.
