The Bible describes several prophetic signs pointing to the soon return of Jesus Christ👇
Scripture teaches that before the rapture and the events of the end times, the world will experience increasing conflict, disasters, moral decline, and spiritual confusion. Jesus compared these signs to birth pains that grow stronger before a major prophetic fulfillment.
One of the most significant prophetic signs is the restoration of Israel as a nation.
For nearly 2,000 years, Israel was scattered among the nations. Yet the Bible foretold that God would bring His people back to their land in the last days.
In 1948, Israel officially became a nation again — an event many believers see as one of the greatest fulfilled prophecies of modern history.
“Can a nation be born in a day?”
Isaiah 66:8
“I will gather you from all the countries…”
Ezekiel 36:24
In 1967, during the Six-Day War, Jerusalem came back under Israeli control, fulfilling additional prophecies concerning the holy city and its role in the last days.
The Bible also foretells:
1) increasing wars and global tensions,
2) earthquakes and natural disasters,
3) growing wickedness and violence,
moral corruption,
4) persecution of believers,
5) and widespread spiritual deception.
Today, many people believe these signs are intensifying worldwide like never before.
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”
Matthew 24:7
“There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”
Matthew 24:7
“Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
Matthew 24:12
“When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Luke 21:28
Although no one knows the exact date of Christ’s return, the Bible encourages believers to discern the times and remain spiritually awake.
Why Is God Delaying His Return?
The Bible teaches that God is being patient with humanity👇
If Jesus has not yet returned, it is because God still desires to save people and give them the opportunity to repent.
The Lord is allowing time so that everyone may hear the Gospel and turn to Him before the day of judgment.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise…”
2 Peter 3:9
“God desires all people to be saved.”
1 Timothy 2:4
“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”
Hebrews 3:15
God’s patience is a demonstration of His love and mercy.
How Can Someone Prepare for the Return of Jesus?
The Bible calls every person to live in sincere faith, in the love of God, and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit👇
The return of Jesus is not only about understanding prophecies or recognizing the signs of the times. Above all, God is looking for men and women who truly belong to Him — whose hearts are transformed and filled with His Spirit.
Preparing for Jesus’ return means entering into a living relationship with Him, walking in repentance, loving the truth, and remaining faithful until the end.
Jesus warned that many people would appear religious outwardly without having genuine faith. But those who will be ready are those who sincerely love God and persevere in faith.
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
Matthew 25:13
“Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Luke 12:40
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”
Acts 16:31
The Bible also teaches that true love will become rare in the last days. The world will grow harder, spiritually colder, and increasingly distant from God. That is why Jesus calls His disciples to remain in His love.
“Because lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold.”
Matthew 24:12
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart…”
Matthew 22:37
“Love one another as I have loved you.”
John 13:34
Being ready for the rapture also means keeping a genuine faith, even in the midst of trials, distractions, and the deceptions of the world. God is looking for believers who persevere and trust Him until the end.
“The righteous shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:17
“Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
Hebrews 11:6
“He who endures to the end shall be saved.”
Matthew 24:13
But spiritual preparation cannot be accomplished by human strength alone. The Bible teaches that believers must be filled with the Holy Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit transforms the heart, gives strength to resist sin, produces love, peace, and holiness, and prepares the Church to meet Jesus Christ.
“Be filled with the Spirit.”
Ephesians 5:18
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
Romans 8:14
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…”
Galatians 5:22
The parable of the ten virgins also shows that those who were ready had oil in their lamps — a symbol associated with the presence of the Holy Spirit and a living faith.
“Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast.”
Matthew 25:10
God is not asking for human perfection, but for a sincere, repentant heart devoted to Jesus Christ. Those who place their trust in Him, walk in love, and remain filled with the Holy Spirit have the hope of His glorious return.

In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ encourages believers to remain hopeful when they see the signs of the end times. The verse declares that the redemption of the faithful is near.
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
In this prophetic discourse, Jesus Christ announces several signs of the last days: wars, global conflicts, famines, and earthquakes. However, He explains that these events mark the beginning of sorrows, not yet the complete end.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”
In this verse, Paul the Apostle warns that in the last days, some people will turn away from the true faith and follow deceptive teachings and spiritually dangerous influences.
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
In this prophetic passage, Jesus Christ announces that the Gospel will be preached to all nations before the end times come.
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
In this prophetic passage, Paul the Apostle describes the sudden transformation of believers at the return of Jesus Christ in the air: the dead will rise, and believers who are still alive will be instantly changed.
